Andhra Pradesh stands Second in Suicide Cases as per the data of National Crime record Bureau. 2009

• 15 suicides took place  per hour.
• 1  out of every 3 suicide victim was  a youth (15-29 years) and middle aged (30-44 years)
• More than one lakh persons (1,27,151) in the country lost their lives by committing suicide during the year 2009.
• It is oberved that social and economic causes have led most of the males to commit suicide, whereas emotional and personal causes have mainly driven females to end their lives  during the year 2009.
• State with higher percentage of suicide in 2009 ontributed to 55% of total suicide victims.

  2nd-Andhra Pradesh-11.4%
  3rd-Tamil Nadu-11.3%
  4th-Maharashtra-11.2%
  5th- Karnataka-9.6%
