24-year-old commits suicide in Delhi

New Delhi, Dec 3: A 24-year-old man allegedly committed suicide by hanging from a ceiling fan at his residence in North East Delhi's Surajkund area, police said on Dec 2. The deceased Dinesh Kumar, a Chartered Accountant working with a private firm in Noida, was living with his parents and elder brother in east Delhi's Ghonda area and took the extreme step as he was under depression. According to a note recovered from the spot written by the deceased, three of Kumar's friends were blackmailing him since sometime and were planning to implicate him in a false case. The incident came to light on Sunday night."The deceased had his dinner with his family members and retired to his room. After a while when his mother went to check on him, she found him hanging from the ceiling fan inside his room. The woman then raised an alarm and police was informed," a police official said. The body was sent for post-mortem examination and later handed over to the parents for final rites. Police have registered a case and investigations are underway. Any arrests would be made only after the role of the accused in the case is established, police said.

Bengaluru: 8-year-old kills self, shocking suicide note found
Bengaluru, Dec 2: Hours after her death, Bengaluru Police on Tuesday, Dec 2 discovered suicide note from the house of the 8-year-old who allegedly committed suicide. The girl allegedly set her ablaze.
According to police sources, the girl allegedly mentioned in the suicide note that she was depressed. The note, according to sources, was written in broken language. Speaking to media, Additional Commissioner of Police (Law and Order) Alok Kumar said, "She committed suicide in Yelahanka police station limits. Yet to ascertain what led such a young girl to commit suicide. But it is really a sad incident."The police informed that they did not want to pressurise the parents of the 8-year-old as they were in shock. The cops, however, have been investigating whether the girl's suicide was connected to her school. However, the senior official also informed that the girl did not mention anything about her school in the suicide note. He was quoted as saying, "We will see what exactly the reason was. This is the first case that I have come to know in Bengaluru city involving a child of less than 10 years of age."
